Ben Stephany (Tenor) - 20
Ben Stephany, the youngest of the quartet, lives in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where he has sung in choir since 4th grade. He was selected to sing in the State Honors Chorus in 8th grade down in Madison, Wisconsin. At the end of his freshman year at Fond du Lac High School, his Uncle Jack convinced him to go to a Harmony Explosion Camp in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This is where Ben experienced his first taste of barbershop music. After the weekend was over he fell in love with it and could not stop singing it. He enjoyed the camp so much, that he went for another 2 consecutive years. At the camp he met Michael Blair and together they started to look into forming a quartet for competition. After his second year of the Harmony Explosion Camp Ben began looking for a chorus to join. Soon enough Ben found the Midwest Vocal Express, an international competitive chorus out of Greendale, Wisconsin. Through his new chorus he honed his skills and began to learn form some of the best in barbershop. Singing with the MVE led Ben to bigger and better things as he soon found myself on the International stage in Philadelphia during the summer of 2010. After watching all the quartets and chorus's compete he got a quartet together in his school to compete at solo ensemble, however at the same time he was beginning his journey with SuperNova. SuperNova made one of Ben's dreams come true when they were invited to compete in the International Collegiate
Competition in the summer of 2012. Currently Ben is working toward becoming a teacher at
the University of Wisconsin Fond du Lac.

Chris Vander Pas (Baritone) - 22
Well, here is Chris Vander Pas, the new baritone of SuperNova. He regularly lives in Little Chute, WI and hasn't sung as long as his other quartet members. His first musical experiences started in high school. This was mainly because according to most of his classmates in middle school and earlier convinced him that singing was something he shouldn't do (peer pressure). However when they heard Chris sing they were amazed by his singing. All of a sudden, they said I was really good! (said Chris in his own words). In high school he was one of the two leaders in the tenor section. The other leader goes by the name Tim Van Eperen. He was actually the one who brought Chris into the idea of barbershop. They actually made a make-shift quartet, sang in Solo & Ensemble, and for one of their concerts. It was a real blast! After high school, he decided he loved music enough that he would be a Music Education Major at UW Oshkosh. Currently, Chris resides in Oshkosh during most of the academic year. In college he found more people that showed interest in barbershop and was told that if he wanted to go into a chorus, there was the Fox Valleyaires in the Little Chute area. Chris has now been with them for almost two years. Oh yeah! He bets you all want to know how he got there! That was mainly because of the chord college in January. Chris met Ben, who is the nephew of one of the Valleyaire members, and was taught how to sing tags! Then, Ben asked if Chris would like to join the quartet because we needed a baritone. So that's why he's here, and the rest as they say, is history. If you want to know more just ask.....he doesn't bite....much!
